Emotional Transition Training

I just heard about this awesome event that the College Success Foundation is putting on. They are doing two small workshops based on the book called FLUX for Passport to College students on October 2nd and 3rd. Check out the information I received below:

Remember the proverb, "change is the only constant." No one may know this better than a youth in foster care. Each day may bring about a change in placement, school, or case worker. Those of us from foster care have learned and continue to learn how to deal with change and sometimes, embrace it; we have also learned that emotional transitions can create the most difficulties.

Join us for a one-of-a-kind workshop that will help prepare you and other young people for the emotional transition from foster care to adulthood. Each workshop is facilitated by alumni who have walked in your shoes and is based on the popular book, Flux: Life after Foster Care. We cover such topics as; the transition framework, who am I now, support systems, biological family, intimacy, and much more.

This workshop is interactive and fun. Each participant will receive a FREE Flux book, offered a FREE Foster Care Alumni of America membership, and workshop materials. Breakfast, lunch and dinner and transportation costs will be provided. This workshop brings honest, useful, and real-life expertise that can only come from those of us who have experienced the system first hand. Don't miss out on the opportunity to learn how to make the emotional transition from foster care to adulthood.

This workshop will be offered in two different locations.
