Governor's Scholarship

Many of you may have already heard about the Governor's Scholarship. It is funding sources that helps students who have just graduated from foster care with additional financial support and aid. Like ETV and Passport funds their is a specific application process and qualifications.

Since most of you have already been in school a while you may not need to look further into it, however there are some club members that are younger that may want to utilize this as a resource for your time at CPTC.

Here is some information I just received from the College Success Foundation about the scholarship:

Did You Know? By the time the 9th cohort of Governors’ Scholars enrolls in college this fall term, over 240 Governors’ Scholars will have attended college since 2002. We now expect about 108 Governors’ Scholars to receive scholarship funds for their college enrollment during the 2010-11 academic year. In addition, through June, 2010, 36 Governors’ Scholars have received bachelors’ degrees and several others have received their associate’s degrees!

Applications must be postmarked by December 10, 2010 and can be found here. Check it out if you think you will qualify.
