Housing

I see a lot of students who are eager to move out one their own when they come to school. It makes sense to get a spot near campus and spread your wings, and experience some independence. I am definately for those things. Be sure your housing does not cost you too much money monthly. I have ran into students that all of their extra aid goes to housing and that is not a fun way to live. A good rule of thumb is to keep your housing costs to be around 25% of your monthly income, that way it is manageable.

Here is a link for an Apartment Finder guide for the Lakewood area. This is a publication that I am not trying to promote, but we have these on campus and often hand them to students, so this is the online version.
